Full Day Tour: Orongo and Volcanic Shelters

This tour combines spectacular landscapes with the most fascinating stories of the Rapa Nui culture. In just one day, you will explore the sacred crater of Rano Kau, the ceremonial village of Orongo and the enigmatic cult of the Birdman. In addition, you will enter volcanic caves such as Ana Te Pahu, discover the red quarry of Puna Pau and visit Ahu Akivi, unique for its moai facing the sea.

With a certified local guide, comfortable transportation and small groups, you will live a complete experience that mixes history, archaeology and nature in the heart of the island.

  • Babies should sit on their parents’ laps.
  • Not wheelchair accessible.
  • Not accessible for baby strollers.
  • Not suitable for pets.
  • There is no public transportation nearby.
  • Baby seats are not available.
  • Morning schedule (09:00 hrs): Pick up to visit Vinapu – Rano Kau – Orongo.
  • Afternoon schedule (15:00 hrs): Second pick up to visit Ana Te Pahu – Puna Pau – Ahu Akivi.
  • Punctuality: The maximum waiting time is 5 minutes per passenger. Be ready in advance so as not to delay the group.
  • National Park Ticket: Must be purchased online in advance, as there is no stop at the sales office. It is mandatory to bring the ticket along with the same passport or ID used in the purchase.
  • Meeting point: Reception or main entrance of your accommodation. If you are outside the urban area, an alternative meeting point will be arranged.
  • Recommendations: Comfortable clothing, closed shoes and sunscreen. For the afternoon, consider bringing extra water.
  • It is recommended to be ready 10 minutes before each departure to ensure a punctual start.

  • We will charge a 100% cancellation fee if you cancel your reservation 1 day or more before the tour starts.
  • We will charge a 0% cancellation fee if you cancel your reservation 1000 days or more before the start of the tour.
